Enumerators directed to conduct survey under Food Security Fest during workshop

Deputy Commissioner of Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) RP Shrivastava issued directives to enumerators who will be conducting an extensive survey across the city on June 9 to impose the provisions of National Food Security Act 2013.

A workshop was organised at Municipal Council Hall on Friday as per the directives of Municipal Commissioner Vivek Kshotriya to impart training to enumerators who be performing survey by visiting door to door in the city on June 9.

Assistan Food Controller Singhi, corporators and UMC employees were present during workshop. BPL families, landless labourers under Mukhya Mantri Majdoor Suraksha Yojana, registered labourers, registered beneficiaries of Social Security Pension, registered cycle ricksha riders, go-cart vendors, destitute disabled labourers, children residing in hostels, elderly people residing at old age homes, forest land lease holders, registered housewives, vendors, loaders, labourers of closed mills, Bidi labourers, landless Kotwar, registred knitters, artisans, barbers, multi disabled and menatlly retarded, people suffering from AIDS, registered fishermen and families affected of natural disasters are included under priority category under Food Security Act along with SC and ST communities.

They will be issued eligibility slips after conducting the survey. Shrivastava informed that enumerators will be deployed at ward level to carry out survey on June 9. These employees will reach to concerned families in the ward and will perform survey. Families, which possess SSSM IDs, have to show them and those who do not possess IDs will have to register their names.

General families which are marked under this category and are not tax payers are eligible under this Act. Shrivastava has made an appeal to citizens for cooperating employees providing them required information. People belonging to above mentioned categories will be eligible to receive ration from fair price shops from July 2014 after the survey.
